The Game

The game "Planet Calypso" from the publisher "First Planet Company" is an autonomous MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Role Playing Game) inside the Entropia Universe.

It was developed by the company Mindark PE AB from Sweden, which went live in 2003 and has been online since then.
The Entropia Universe and "Planet Calypso" utilizes only one central management server. That means that interactions can be done with thousands of other players from around the world without worrying on which server the avatar was actually created (unlike in many other MMORPGs).
The Entropia Universe and Planet Calypso currently has about 900,000 registered accounts with people from all over the world.

The game client is available in English as well as in German, Spanish and French. Translations into Chinese and Russian are currently in process.

"Planet Calypso" offers the gamer classic features of an MMORPG as well as numerous new possibilities which can't be found in most of the others online games.
Classic elements are (but not limited to) creature hunting, alone or in a team, prospecting and surveying for natural resources, and the subsequent processing of these in the construction / crafting sector where, tools, weapons, armor, etc. for other participants are being manufactured.

All these actions require a certain amount of interaction with other players, for instance, to exchange raw materials such as hides among each other, place items in in-world auction, or sell through player owned shops located in in-game malls or individual shopkeepers.
The appearance of the players avatar can be changed in many different ways. People can get unique hair cuts, make up, tattoos and specially designed apparel. All this is covered by its own profession inside the Entropia Universe and on Planet Calypso that a player can chose to pursue.

Apart from that, Planet Calypso and the Entropia Universe offer much more content to the participant. For example people can buy land and attract other people to their grounds with the ability for the landowner to charge taxes of from other players activities there.
Players can fly spaceships to distant locations and convey passengers to different destinations. They can set up own events and quests, that others can join and have fun with and thus chose to be an event promoter.

The publisher, First Planet Company, provides every participant with the ability to contribute to Planet Calypso´s history and become part of it's development.
